Hertfordshire Microlight Club
The Hertfordshire Microlight Club is a small friendly club and was formed in 1988 by the late Brian Curtis. The site moved to London Colney in 1992 and is conveniently situated within the M25 motorway, north of London. Our flying membership includes a full spectrum of aircraft types, including fixed wing, flexwing, paramotors and powered hang gliders.
Our hangars and storage area are in an old claypit, below the level of the runways, providing excellent shelter. We have two intersecting grass runways, with the main runway in the prevailing wind direction. There is also a small clubhouse and a parking/rigging area at the level of the runways.
Visitors are welcome by car or air, but PPR is strictly enforced to brief pilots on noise abatement and circuit procedures. Visitors must be qualified on type, or under qualified instruction.
We do not have any training facilities onsite, but these can be provided at nearby airfields, which can be found on our ‘Local Interest’ page.
We operate in conjunction with the Light Aircraft Association, the British Microlight Association and the British Hang Gliding and Paragliding Association.
